Over the past month and a half, Pitbound has changed a lot.
We’ve added new content, improved the gameplay, fixed bugs, polished existing systems, and pushed the game much further than where it was just a few weeks ago.
But perhaps the most exciting part is that we’re no longer the only ones playing it.
Content creators have started trying Pitbound, making videos, discovering builds, and giving us feedback that is already helping shape the game. At the same time, we’ve been experimenting with short-form content, and Pitbound is slowly starting to reach more people.
We still have a long way to go — but for the first time, it really feels like Pitbound is moving.
So we wanted to take a moment to show you what we’ve been working on, share some of the videos and shorts people have made, and give you a glimpse at how much Pitbound has changed over the last eight weeks.
This is Pitbound right now — and it’s the worst it’s ever going to be.
Content Creators Having FUN with the Game
These first two videos were recorded by content creators playing version 0.2.3.
We’re already on version 0.2.5, which fixed quite a few bugs and added a bunch of cool new things, so the game has already changed quite a bit since these videos were recorded.
These next videos were recorded on versions 0.2.1 and 0.2.0, so keep in mind that Pitbound has evolved quite a bit since then.
These videos were recorded before the latest updates, so some of the content, visuals and gameplay systems you see have already changed.
Started Publishing Shorts
I wanted to show some of the cool things you can do in Pitbound, so I started publishing short gameplay videos.
And honestly, playing Pitbound just to record these videos really surprised me.
When you make a game, you play it so much that, after a while, you start to see it differently. Things that used to feel exciting can start to feel normal. You know every system, every enemy, every weapon — so it can be easy to forget what it feels like to discover the game for the first time.
But when I started recording these videos, I had a ton of fun playing Pitbound.
And I had even more fun trying to break it.
That led to another thing that really excited me: even though I’m the developer and I know everything about the game, I still had a hard time breaking it.
That makes me think we’re in a really good place balance-wise — but at the same time, it’s still possible to create completely ridiculous builds and break the game in fun ways.
And that’s exactly what I want from this type of game.
I also started a TikTok channel to share these kinds of videos, so follow us there if you’re interested!
In just about a week, our shorts have already reached around 2,300 views on YouTube and 3,100 views on TikTok.
That might not sound huge yet, but it’s a really encouraging start!
5 Updates in 2 Weeks
Over the last two weeks, we published 3 hotfixes and 2 bigger updates on Steam, fixing lots of bugs, adding new content, and introducing new features.
Here are some of the biggest changes:
Added 2 New Enemies

Introduced Equipment Merging
You can now merge certain combinations of 2 or more items to create completely new equipment that can’t be obtained in any other way.

And that’s just part of it.
